Kenneth O. “Butch” Thomas, 72 years, of Toledo, OH passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 in Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania. A welder for the Chrysler Corporation, he retired after 34 years. The son of Edward and Florence (Chamberlin) Thomas he was born November 8, 1942 in Toledo.

He was a U.S. Airforce veteran. Butch’s hobbies included racing with both of his sons at Toledo Speedway and building models.

Jerome Ostermyer

Jerome “Jerry” Ostermyer, 80 years, of Temperance, MI passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at his home.  A diesel mechanic for many years. The son of Charles and Marietta (Simone) Ostermyer,  he was born on June 27, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio.  Jerry enjoyed classic cars. He was a member of Douglas Road Wesleyan Church.

Tommy Hearst

Tommy Glenn Hearst, age 67, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015, one day prior to his 68th birthday. At the time of his passing, Tommy was resting comfortably in Hospice care at Aspen Grove Assisted Living Facility in Lambertville, MI. Born September 29, 1947 in Steele, Missouri, Tommy was the third born of Eulas and Wanda (James) Hearst’s five sons. As a young child Tommy moved with his family to Erie, MI.

Tommy served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he received a Bronze Star.

Alton Cousino Jr.

Alton David Cousino, Jr., age 82, of Temperance, MI passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Mercy-St. Anne Hospital in Toledo, OH.

The son of Alton and Margurite (Bondy) Cousino, Sr. he was born June 7, 1933 in Toledo.

A career military U.S. Army veteran, he served in the Korean War.  Alton was also a member of the U.S. Army National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve, as well as being a retired U.S. Army Recruiter. He served as Vice-Commander and Sergeant-of- Arms at the Lynn C. Weeman Post #514 American Legion, in Ida, MI.

Alton’s civilian occupations included serving as a Detroit Police Officer. He also retired from Doehler-Jarvis in Toledo where he worked as a journeyman machinist and tool and die mechanic.

Dolores Barry-Krabach

Dolores I. “Dee” Barry-Krabach, 93 years, of Lambertville, MI passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 19, 2015.

She was born in Mitchell, South Dakota November 26, 1921 to Edwin and Ann (Clancy) Fishe.

Dee worked her whole life at various jobs, which included going to beauty school at age 52 and having her own shop, Dee’s Clip Joint. Her love in life was playing piano for over 35 years in Toledo for several places such as Joey’s Supper Club, Pied Piper, and Obie’s Irish Pub. In later years she also did demo work at J.C. Penney’s. Dee was always doing something, such as volunteering her time at elderly homes, also singing and playing the piano. Described as a feisty, tough lady she loved her jewelry and make-up for sure.

Lawrence Zoldowski

If  you were ever fortunate enough to have Larry Zoldowski proudly show you each treasured medal he'd won in Special Olympics, you'd have had the opportunity to understand how the word ABLE was such a better descriptor of him than disabled. 

Sporting a toothy grin as big as his heart, Larry was well-known for his enthusiasm for life, his ability to learn to live independently, managing meals, laundry and even a daily bus route, his ability to be gainfully employed, and his innocent joy in giving and receiving hugs from favorite customers and fellow employees (and especially pretty women) at Pete's Garage, the Monroe Country Club, the former Mercy Doctor's Building and Olga's.  Larry, who had spoken often of heaven, has rejoined his much beloved family members, parents, Floyd and Sophie (Blaszczyk); brother-in-law, Don Nash and nephew, Brian Zoldowski.

He was a 1968 graduate of Bedford High School. An avid race car enthusiast and past ARCA official, he was always involved in racing. He was a long term employee of Frostbite of Toledo, OH.

The daughter of Leonard and Florence (Counter) Zytkus she was born June 10, 1930 in Toledo. A 1949 graduate of Whitmer High School, she married Donald L. Luck July 23, 1949. He preceded her in death in 2002.

The son of Walter C. and Hazel (DuVall) Lewis he was born April 6, 1943 in Erie. Raymond was a 1961 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Monroe. He married Mary Jane Koehler on September 29, 1962.

Lorene Roberts

Lorene M. Roberts, 93 years, of Whitehouse, OH, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. The daughter of Theobold and Agnes (Gentner) Wioland, she was born October 29, 1921 in Toledo. 

She enjoyed knitting, painting, gardening and line dancing in Whitehouse. Lorene loved her family and spoiling her great-grandchildren. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance and St. Patrick’s of Providence Catholic Church in Grand Rapids, OH. Lorene was also a lifetime member of Erie VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Erie Senior Center.
