Gerald T. Fels was called home to Our Lord on July 5, 2016. Jerry was born Oct. 3rd, 1932 to Don and Luella Fels. He was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School and after High School joined the United States Navy serving in the Korean War.
Prior to his retirement, Jerry worked as a pipefitter for many years and was a member of the UA Local 50 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union in Toledo, OH.
Jerry was a “snow bird” who enjoyed spending winters in Fort Myers Beach, Florida with the love of his life, Nancy. Jerry was a lifetime member of Riverview Yacht Club where he spent many years boating and spending time with friends. Jerry also loved working on his many “projects””.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Don and Luella Fels; sister, Marlene, and his loving wife, Nancy (McFarland) Fels.
Jerry is survived by his children, Jerry (Debi) Ditmyer, Kim Ditmyer, John (Pam) Fels, Duane (Shelley) Ditmyer, Jennifer Nour, Kathleen Fincher and Ron (Marti) Ditmyer ; 15 Grandchildren and 31 Great-Grandchildren; Sisters, Sharon (Terry) Crystal, Darryl Briscoe, Joyce (Bill) Brondes as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and his special four legged companions Snickers and Togo.
A celebration of his life will be held at The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 2240 Castlewood Dr. Toledo, OH on Monday July 11, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. where visitation will begin in the Narthex at 9:00 a.m. Military Honors will be conducted after the Funeral Mass by Lambertville VFW Post #9656. Arrangements entrusted to Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave Temperance, MI.
In lieu of flowers any memorials should be considered to the American Cancer Society, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Humane Society, or the charity of donor’s choice in Jerrys name.
