Joyce Marie Szachta, 80 years, of Toledo, OH passed away on February 5, 2020 in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center surrounded by her family. The daughter of Chester and Sophie (Poluck) Szykowny she was born on February 15, 1939 in Toledo, OH.
Joyce a devout Catholic has been a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church since 1962. She was a member of the Marian Society where she loved working the boutique sales. Married on July 29, 1961 Joyce married the love of her life Richard Szachta in St. Anthony Catholic Church. Everyone loved her Blonde Brownies, Zucchini Bread and famous for her lamb butters at Easter time. Joyce loved her family and enjoyed dancing the Polka. She worked for Tidke’s and the Villa North Nursing Home.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, James (Karen) Szachta, Annette Mikolajczyk and Thomas (Francine) Szachta; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and sister Gloria Szykowny. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Richard.
