Kim Hoenig Navarette left a message on January 18, 2021:

From my earliest memories Aunt Joyce and Uncle Leon were always such a special, important part of our family. My grandparent's best friends and partners in crime till the end. I will never forget walking the duck at the cottage or watching gramps and Uncle Leon make all of the kids so happy at the park dressed as clowns and doing magic tricks. His painting of the cottage proudly hangs in my office. The painting depicts the cottage, but more importantly down front is our little yellow Catamaran with rainbow sails. On that boat, flying by the cottage is Uncle Leon, Aunt Joyce, my Gram and Gramps. I look at that picture and smile at that amazing time in life where they were free and on the lake and I can almost hear them laughing! You were a man larger than life and yet so humble. You loved your Joycie with a fierce, joyful kind of love that was beautiful to watch. I will miss you Uncle Leon. But somehow I think Gram and Pops and Aunt Joycie were just waiting for you ro get there and let the hilarity begin. Reunited!
