Alma Marie Atkins, 95 years, of Holland, OH and formerly of Temperance, MI passed away
April 30, 2018 at The Lakes of Monclova. The daughter of Walter and Helen (Miller) Pegorch she was born May 17, 1922 in Toledo, OH.
She married Louis Atkins in Holy Trinity Church on January 12, 1945. Alma worked as a secretary for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church from 1958 until 1968 and then worked as a secretary for Bedford Public Schools until she retired on June 27, 1986. Along with her husband, Alma also performed as “”Elmo”” the clown. She liked many hobbies such as quilting and knitting.
She was a long time active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Temperance, Lambertville Educational Club, and VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith Lee Duty; son, Rev. Ronald L. (Judy) Atkins; stepdaughter, Annarae Russell; 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 13 step-great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Providence Lutheran Church 8131 Airport Highway, Holland, OH where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow. Arrangements entrusted to the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel. Temperance, MI.
