Alma R. Nofziger, 84 years, of Lambertville, MI passed away peacefully on May 23, 2023 under the care of Elara Caring Hospice at Fountain View of Monroe, Monroe, MI. The daughter of Jack and Virginia (Schrein) Swisher she was born on July 8, 1938 in Toledo, OH.
A 1956 graduate of Bedford High School, Alma married the love of her life Donald E. Nofziger on May 27, 1961. A secretary for the Dana Corporation she left after only a few years to begin a family. An active member of New Life Church, Alma would enjoy volunteering to help in any way that was needed. She enjoyed baking and cooking and spending time with the elderly.
Alma is survived by her children, Glen (Michelle) Nofziger, Celeste (Chris) Kloka and Bonita (James) Chapetta; grandchildren, Chad (Chocorua) Nofziger, Jeremy (Caitlyn) Nofziger, Zachary (Ariana Burkey) Nofziger and Sydney Chapetta; great-granddaughter, Amegara Nofziger; siblings, Judy Kubitz, Vernon Swisher, Ginger Snyder, Donna White, Jackie Drew, Bill Swisher, Greg Swisher, Lani Dorrell, Debbie Lynch, Keith Swisher, Michelle “Micky” Cluckey; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; and brother, Terry Swisher.
Visitation will be Friday, May 26, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at New Life Church 6023 Summerfield Rd. Petersburg, MI 49270 at 12:00 noon and where visiting will begin at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be private in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Toledo, OH.
