Charles Leonard Hawley, 84 years, of Temperance, MI passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023 in Ebeid Hospice. The son of Irving and Sylvia (Kakkonen) Hawley he was born July 21, 1938 in Trout Creek, MI. Charles married Rosemary McCracken on August 26, 1960 and spent 59 wonderful years together.
A jock at heart, Charles loved sports. He was a great baseball player, scouted by the Baltimore Orioles and St. Louis Cardinals. A simple man, he enjoyed books, spending a lot of time watching football, reading and he hated commercials. Charles and Rosemary loved dogs and over the years had taken in many Rescue Dogs.
Charles is survived by children, Pamela (Albano Goncalves) Hawley and Gwen Knieriem. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary and siblings, Michael Hawley and Dorothy Wagner.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. in Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church Cemetery.
