Chester Frank Wolniewicz, 92 years, of Temperance, MI passed away on March 4, 2016 in his home. The son of Antoni and Stella (Balcerzak) Wolniewicz, he was born on June 30, 1923 in Toledo, Ohio.
Chester was a World War II veteran serving in the battle of Iwo Jima. He married Elizabeth in 1947. Chester worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service retiring in 1977.
Chester is survived by his sons, Gary (Sue) Wolniewicz, Randy (Jody) Wolniewicz; sisters, Mary Cox , Teresa (Bob) Baranski and sister-in-laws, Irene Wolniewicz and Eleanor Wolniewicz; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth; son, David; sister, Lillian Urbanek; brothers, Stanley, Joseph, Stephen, Floyd and Frank.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 7, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI where the funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery Toledo, OH. fond memories of our mail man for years... he even rushed me to the emergency room once when i tore my leg up in his driveway riding bikes with randy... may the Lord comfort the family during this time...
