Daniel S. Dudek, 89 years, of Lambertville, MI formerly of Point Place passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania, OH with his wife, Phyllis; daughter, Audrey and son-in-law, Gary at his side. The son of Stanley and Anna (Broniecki) Dudek he was born on April 24, 1929 in Toledo, OH.
A graduate of Woodward High School Class of 1947 he was a member of the Woodward Golden Bears Alumni Club. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. After returning home from service he was employed with Libbey-Owens Ford Glass Co. Plant # 4 and retired with 32 years of service in 1982 when the plant closed. A member of Lambertville United Methodist Church, the Bedford Senior Center, the Korean War Veteran Association of Northwest Ohio Chapter # 131 and the Conn-Weissenberger American Legion Post # 587.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 64 years, Phyllis; along with his children, Audrey (Gary) Schnabel, Jeff (Debbie) Dudek, USAF Major Jim Dudek and Sue Dudek; grandchildren, Andrew and Megan Greenley, Nick and Katelyn Dudek, Griffin Burkhardt; 3 great-grandchildren, Preslee and Wilder Greenley, Harlee Swanson as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Anna Dudek; sister, Lucille (John) Riester.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt “”thank you”” for the dedicated and compassionate care by the nurse’s aides and staff at Kingston Care Center in Sylvania, OH.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 14, 2018 in Toledo Memorial Park Chapel of Memories 6382 Monroe Street Sylvania, OH from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12 Noon with Military Honors being conducted by the Lambertville VFW Post 9656. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Lambertville United Methodist Church 8165 Douglas Road Lambertville, MI 48144.
