David A. Baronas, age 69, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather of Temperance, MI passed away on October 12, 2016. The son of Alex and Mildred (Zaniewski) Baronas he was born in Buffalo, NY on May 7, 1947.
David graduated from Whitmer High School, class of ’65 and enlisted into the US Navy in 1966 and served until 1970. He served two tours in Vietnam as a Naval ‘Seabee’ (the fighting 40th)
“Dave” met and fell in love with Nancy. They were married in June of ’96. Dave and Nancy enjoyed raising and showing AKC Registered, Dachshunds. He was a member of “Wolverine Dachshund Club” and “Detroit Beagle Club” Dave had a passion for woodworking. He shared this passion with Nancy. They built many beautiful items that family and friends will love for many years to come. Dave was a journeyman roofer for well over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.
David was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Eileen and Jeanette; brother, Ronald.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy (Roberts) Baronas; stepchildren, Kelli, Jay, and Joe; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; sisters, Jeanne (John) Ritner, Phyllis (Mike) Buzene; sister-in-law, JoAnn (Scott) Smith, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to send a special Thank You to Ebeid Hospice Center for the compassionate care of Dave in his last hours.
Visitation will be October 17, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance MI. with Military Honors being conducted by the Lambertville VFW Post 9656 at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to any veterans organization of your choice.
