David Szymanski

David P. Szymanski 77 years, of Petersburg, Michigan passed away in Toledo, Ohio on July 11th, 2021. David was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 19, 1943 to Charlotte and Leo Szymanski. David attended Central Catholic High School where he graduated with the class of 1961. He later went on to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1970.

David worked for over 25 years at GM Powertrain in Toledo before retiring. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working outside, and working on cars. His hobbies included metal detecting, amateur radio call sign W8DJS, and reading books on history and mystery. David was also a proud member of the American Legion in Ida, Michigan.

 David is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Joyce Szymanski; his children, David Szymanski (Elaine Sproul) and Susan Szymanski (James Billow); grandsons, Nathan Szymanski (Kelly), Gabe Sproul and Leo Sproul, in addition to many cousins, nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents, Charlotte and Leo Szymanski; sisters, Barbara Falise and Evelyn Burkhardt.

 The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, July 19, 2021 in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Where a visitation will be in the narthex at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors Conducted by Lambertville VFW Post 9656. Arrangements entrusted to Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI 48182. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Church, Temperance, MI.
