Dennis Eugene Hankins, 75 years of Lambertville, Michigan went to be with the Lord Friday, January 3, 2025, at his stepson’s residence in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He was born April 2, 1949, in Kenton, Ohio, a son of Shirley and Orland Hankins raised in Forest, Ohio. Denny was preceded in death by his parents.
Denny is survived and missed by his loving wife of 38 years, Susan Hankins; Two daughters, Emily Kleeberger (Mark), and Sarah Lindsey (Nick); Two stepsons, Tony Askins, and Nick Askins; Five grandchildren, Will Kleeberger, Katie Kleeberger, Noah Lindsey, Eli Lindsey, Maizy Askins; and Three brothers, David Hankins (Sarah), Doug Hankins (Audrey), and Dean Hankins.
Denny grew up on a farm in Forest, Ohio. He later traveled to attend school at DeVry University near Chicago, Illinois for an electronics degree. Upon attaining his degree, he went on to work at Conrail (railroad), which would later become CSX, where he worked for 47 years.
During his time there he rose to management in communications and those he worked with often spoke very fondly of him, as he took a great deal of pride in his job, his role in the company, those he worked for, worked with, and those that worked for him.
He later placed his roots in Lambertville, Michigan with his loving wife and became a pillar in the community with his love and commitment to 3B Baseball, of which he went on to become President of the organization for a short time. He spent many years coaching, and one of his greatest joys in life was not only coaching his teams but each one of his players.
Denny was a Hardworking, Committed, Fun, Humorous man who Cherished his Wife and Family.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI until the time of the funeral service at 5:00 p.m.
