Dennis Joseph Bashaw

Dennis Joseph Bashaw, 87 years, of the Point Place Community passed peacefully from this life on July 18, 2025, having placed his faith in Jesus Christ and holding the assurance of everlasting life.

The son of Joseph Otto and Ione Anne (Bickley) Bashaw he was born June 30, 1938 in Monroe, MI. A graduate of DeVilbiss High School, Dennis enjoyed a successful career as a salesman with Kingsbury Machine Tool Corporation, retiring in 2000.

An active member with the Shriners during the 1970s and a longtime member of River View Yacht Club, where he joined in the 1970s and served in many leadership roles, culminating in his term as Commodore in 1989.

Dennis found his greatest happiness in his family, time on the water, and the friendships he built at RVYC. His presence will be deeply missed, but we take comfort in knowing he is now with the Lord.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, JoAnne (Kleene) Bashaw; his son, Jeffrey Bashaw and daughter-in-law, Sandy; his sister, Yvonne Miller; and he was a proud grandfather to Jaden, Brandyn, Brian, and Sean, all of whom brought him great joy.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter, Tracey Lee Bashaw in 1983.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Dennis’s life will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 2-5 P.M. at River View Yacht Club, 5981 Edgewater Dr. Toledo, OH 43611. Friends and family are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, guests are invited to bring an old photo or memory to share.
