Dennis J. Kopinski, 84 years, of Temperance, MI passed away Saturday, October 18, 2025 in his home. The son of Ollie and Claire (Synowczyk) Kopinski he was born May 16, 1941 in Toledo, OH. He proudly served in the National Guard. Dennis had worked in pharmaceutical sales for many years.

Dennis was well-known as a jokester, always quick-witted and full of humor. He often entertained others under the playful aliases of “Harvey Schmotski’ and ‘Fr. Denny”.  He was a huge Notre Dame and New York Yankee fan but most of all he loved his grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, Steve Kopinski; daughters, Karen (Greg) Lake and Kendra (Stan) Harper; grandchildren, Melaina Kopinski, TJ, Gunnar and Trey Lake, Tony (Paola) and Marcus and Rylee Harper.

Dennis was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Marlene (Billy) Kopinski in 2011 and his parents. “Take the rest of the day off, with pay” – Denny

Visitation will be Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI. Burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

We (Steve and Cyndy) are very saddened to learn of Denny's passing. He was a wonderful neighbor. He always had a smile or joke to share. He loved to tease me about taking my ole dog Gunner walking everyday regardless of the weather. We're sorry we missed his memorial as we didn't find out about it until that afternoon. He will be missed and our condolences to all his family.
