Eugene Michael ‘Gene’ Wojtowicz was born on December 9, 1944, and passed on May 17, 2023. His parents, Tom and Gert, provided him with love and three lively sisters, Barbara, Joyce, and Judy.
He attended Saint Adalbert’s Elementary School, Macomber, and graduated from Woodward High School in 1962.
After high school he worked at the Dura Corporation a short time before joining the Navy. He was a navigator on the aircraft carrier, USS Saratoga, and set course for the Mediterranean Cruise after leaving Mayport, Florida.
Fulfilling his service obligation in 1970 Gene was hired by the Chrysler Corporation as a tool and die skilled tradesman. He worked for 31 years at Jeep retiring in 2004.
Gene raised and cared for his two sons, Scott and Tom. He married Brenda Van Natta Wojtowicz in June 1979. They enjoyed entertaining family and friends, boating, and traveling. Gene was a good bowler and pretty good at golf, and cooking. Fixing cocktails for his wife’s friends was another priority.
