Ivalee E. Nicola, 95 years, of Temperance, MI passed away on October13, 2018. The daughter of Lester and Effie (Grow) Taylor she was born on November 10, 1922 in Toledo, OH.
Ivalee married Sam Nicola in 1943. He preceded her in death in 1974. Sam and Ivalee owned several small restaurants throughout the Toledo Area.
In 1951, she started working for the Jeep Corp. and retired after 30 years. She was always proud to wear her Jeep UAW Red Jacket that she received when she retired. Even before her death she always stated she still wished she was working at Jeep.
In 1976, Ivalee met John Kujawa and was with him for more than 26 years until he passed away in 2002. John was her true soulmate and they enjoyed traveling and playing cards with family members including
Dave and Sis Oehlers. Her favorite Poker game was “”Pee in the Sink.””
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother always putting her family first in life. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her only daughter, Sandy (Larry) Oehlers; two grandchildren, John (Laura) Oehlers and Bob (Ann) Oehlers; four great-grandchildren, Shelby, Allison, Joey and Lindsay Oehlers. She also cherished her special relationship with Elaine Johnson.
She resided at Vibrant Life Senior Living in Temperance, MI for several years. The family wishes to thank the staff and many caregivers who were so helpful and thoughtful in her daily care as well as Great Lakes Hospice for the wonderful care they provided for her.
Per her request, there will be no visitation. Her family will celebrate her life at a family dinner to honor her. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Ave Temperance, MI.
