Judy Smith, 83 years, of Lambertville, MI passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 1, 2024 in Hampton Manor of Bedford. The daughter of Charles and Jean (Clark) Raitz.
A career woman, Judy worked 20 years for AP Parts and other Questor Automotive Units. During her time with them she was awarded the TWIN Award by the Toledo YWCA and University of Toledo’s Center for Women as “Best Exemplifying Excellence in their Field”. She was honored as young Executive of the Year in 1981 by the Automotive Service Industry Association (ASIA).
Judy was recruited by Coleco Toy Company in 1984 which took her and her husband, Bill to Connecticut. Hasbro purchased Coleco and Judy joined Hasbro in July of 1990. She loved her job with them, holding many positions, working on many projects and obtaining various promotions. As Vice President and Assistant Treasurer with the Credit and Collections Department she worked with Senior members of Hasbro’s staff, retiring in 2014. At that time, she returned to Lambertville to be with family in her remaining years.
She is survived by her sister, Karen Everingham; stepdaughter, Karen (Don) Bliss of Muskegon, MI; nieces, Cheryl Wilson, Debbie Krieger, nephews, Ronald (Stephanie) Krueger, Robert (Crystal) Krueger; several great-nieces and nephews; and friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Smith and a sister, Shirley Miligan.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends of Judy on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 12:00 noon in St. Michael Lutheran Church 5790 W. Temperance Rd. Ottawa Lake, MI 49267 (corner of Whiteford Ctr. Rd. and Temperance Rd.).
