Kathleen Ann Markley, 73 years, of Temperance, MI passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024 in The Toledo Hospital. The daughter of Chester and Sophie (Rodziewicz) Olszewski, she was born March 18, 1951 in Adrian, MI.
Kathleen was married to her high school sweetheart Morris “Morrie” Markley for over 52 years, spending nearly 60 years together.
A great wife, mom, and a “damn true friend” to many she was also kind and was always willing to help others. A smiling and happy person, she was never angry ever. Known to many as the “Princess”, Kathleen always needed to have her “lips” on! Loving to have a good time, she enjoyed traveling on vacations and going on cruises. She loved all soups, except tripe soup in Mexico. She did crafts and went to craft shows and garage sales, often buying things for the garage sale she was always going to have, but never did. She also enjoyed going to the casino, always playing the same game and playing the lottery. She liked to watch the Price is Right and Survivor and looked forward to playing Bunco with her friends. A jeep owner, she was so very proud of her first Jeep.
An avid Michigan football fan for many years Kathleen had once attended the Michigan/Ohio State game many years ago and forgetting her ticket in the car, Morrie walked all the way back to the car to get it, but in the meantime, she sweet talked her way into the game without it and Morrie missed the whole 1st quarter of the game!
She had worked as a health aid for Bedford Public Schools while her children were growing up and in her younger years she worked for The Toledo Scale.
Kathleen is survived by her loving husband, Morrie; daughter, Jennifer Markley; son, Justin Markley; many friends that were True family, John and Laura Bofia, Megan and Mike Ferrari and their son, Johnathon, Kay Lynch, Lori and Mike Bitz, Gail and Terry Hayward, Dale and Dawn Barton, and Shelley and Mike Poniedzialek; siblings, Sue (Tom), Don (Sharon), Steve (Mitzi); many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Monday, September 16, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI where a Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A private burial of ashes will take place at a later date in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
The family gives special thanks for all the care and compassion shown by The Toledo Hospital ER and ICU Staff.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House.
