Keith “Bud” Wagenhauser, of Temperance, MI, beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather was welcomed into God’s Heavenly Kingdom on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. Born February 28, 1937 to Keith and Helen (Reifert) Wagenhauser in Toledo, OH he was raised by George “Bud” and Helen Whitmill.
He attended Waite High School and graduated from Monroe High School in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany from 1960 – 1962.
Bud married Marcia Tesznar, the love of his life, February 1, 1964 in Regina Coeli Catholic Church. He never turned down a kiss from her. Although at age 85 suffering from dementia that progressed to end his life on earth, he remembered Marcia’s face, voice, and touch until the very end.
He worked for CSX Transportation as a conductor for 44 years and was a former Local Chairman for Lodge #1529 Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen, Walbridge, OH. He was a member of KIT Club for Railroad Retirees. Bud was a longtime member and former usher at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance and cojoined with Regina Coeli Church. He was a 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus Council #8902 where he helped with the tootsie roll drive.
Bud also coached 3-B Youth Baseball in Bedford and served as equipment manager. For a short time, he was an assistant coach for the Bedford Varsity Baseball team and was a member of numerous softball leagues in Toledo and Bedford and later umpired. He was a founding member and past president of the Bedford Snowmobile Club. He loved to ride and race his machines. In his youth, he loved to drag race cars especially his ’57 Chevy Zebec. Sometimes it was in the streets and occasionally got into trouble for it. Bud loved automobiles, his cars and trucks and always took immaculate care of them. For a number of years, he was a Marshall at the Legacy Golf Club and enjoyed league play at Bedford Hills Golf Club. Bud also spent a lot of time at Jugs Bowling Alley, bowling in a Mom and Pop league.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marcia; children, Jeffrey (Tami) Wagenhauser, Lisa (Pete) Gstalder, Dave (Angie) and Mike (Lisa Jean) Wagenhauser; grandchildren, Ben, Andy, Adam and Nini Gstalder, Jessica (Zach) and Jared, Ashley, Emma (Wesley), and Leo, Noah, Elyse, and Easton Wagenhauser; and half-brother, Terry (Kathy) Wagenhauser. He was preceded in death by daughter, Mary Beth; mother and stepfather; brother, Gary Wagenhauser; father and mother-in-law, Walter and Emily Tesznar; sister-in-law, Marge Schmidt; and nephews, Keith and Timmy Schmidt.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI where there will be a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in Regina Coeli Catholic Church, Toledo, OH. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Resurrection Cemetery, Temperance with Military Honors Conducted by Lambertville VFW Post 9656.
