Linda Nowak

Linda (Greiser) Nowak, 72 years, of Temperance, MI passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025 under the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The daughter of Daniel and Anna (Kuhnke) Greiser she was born on February 24, 1953 in Toledo, OH. Linda was a 1971 graduate of Bedford High School with an exceptional scholastic record. She married the love of her life, Thomas J. Nowak, on May 25, 1973 at St. Adalbert church. Tom and Linda met in 1971 while both employees of McDonald’s.  Although they were working at different locations, a manager suggested to Tom that he might meet a pretty girl at the Lewis Avenue location. When he arrived, the girl behind the counter was Linda, a blond-haired blue-eyed beauty that was destined to be his angel and partner for 52 years of marriage.

Linda was smart, capable, and talented beyond compare.  She used her gifts to create a beautiful, inviting, and comfortable home indoors and out at every location she touched. She made jams and pies from fruits grown and picked by her own labor of love. She poured her sewing skills into every request a person could have – from Halloween costumes to flower girl and baptismal gowns, and everything in between.  She put countless hours into detailed planning of vacations and trips to experience unique and inspirational destinations each time.  Most recently, knowing their natural population was declining, she passionately took on the challenge of raising and releasing monarch butterflies and created a breathtaking backyard environment in which they could thrive. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother in every sense of the word. She was selfless beyond measure and was the perfect example of sincere and unconditional LOVE.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tom; children, Tim (Robin) Nowak, Andrea Moore, Andrew (Brittney) Nowak; grandchildren, Tim Nowak Jr., Katie Nowak (Sena Fisher), Josh Nowak, Lana Nowak, Lily Nowak, Billy Moore, Betsy Moore, Evelyn Moore, Drew Nowak, Finn Nowak; and a baby girl as her first great-grandchild expected to arrive October 2025; brothers, Robin (Joan) Greiser, Martin Greiser, Dave Greiser; and sister, Becky (Jeff) Hepinstall. Linda was preceded in death by “her little angel”, Thomas J. Nowak Jr., Nov. 23 to Nov. 25, 1973.

A memorial visitation will be on Friday, August 29, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI where a sharing of memories will be held at 7:00 p.m.

To honor their parents’ beginning, the children and grandchildren of Linda will be purchasing a brick through the Love in Every Layer Program at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Ohio (Toledo Chapter).
