Marcella Hughes

Marcella “”Sally”” Hughes, 88, of Temperance, MI passed away Friday, July 10, 2015 at The Toledo Hospital with her family at her side. Marcella was born to George and Hazel (Charter) Nagel July 30, 1926 in Ida, MI. On October 8, 1949 she married Fredrick Hughes in Angola, IN and he preceded her in death in 2002.

A homemaker, her family was always most important. Marcella enjoyed playing Euchre and playing penny and nickel slots at the casinos. She loved flowers and fishing, but most of all loved spending time with her family.

She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance and a member of Bedford Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her children, Peggy (Larry) Goss of Berkey, OH; Ronald (Judith) Hughes of Ida, MI; Jeanne Wilson (Gil Schrader) of LaSalle, MI; Rick (Vicky) Hughes of Ida, MI; David (Julie) Hughes of Bowling Green, OH; Gary Hughes (Kelly Smith) of Jerome, MI; Jeffrey (Tracy) Hughes of Holland, OH; Scott (Dawn) Hughes of Petersburg, MI; Steven Hughes of Toledo, OH; 25 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lester, Louis, Lyle; sisters, Betty Montrie and Nancy Sizemore.

Family and friends may call at Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Avenue Temperance, MI from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2015. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 8330 Lewis Avenue Temperance, where she will lie in state after 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Hickory Ridge of Temperance for their compassion and care for Marcella. Also, thanks to the staff of the Adult ICU at The Toledo Hospital for the excellent and professional care she received.
