Marcella Majka

Marcella “Marcie” T. Majka, 95 years, of Temperance, MI passed away unexpectedly on December 31, 2021 at The Lakes of Monclova.   Marcie was born on September 13, 1926 in Toledo, OH to Adolph and Stella (Myslinski) Lada.

Marcie graduated from Libby High School and attended Stautzenberger College receiving Business certificates for Letter composition, Short Hand and Typing. She was employed for over 30 years at the Toledo Edison holding many positions.  She was affiliated with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #197, Retired Eagles activity Club, Bedford Senior Center, International Music Association, Toledo Area Polka Society, and the Toledo Edison Retiree Association.  Marcie had a love for animals and had many furry friends throughout her life.

She married the love of her life, Chester Majka, who preceded her in death after 47 years of marriage. She also was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Adam, Chester, Edwin, Stanley, Thaddeus Lada; sisters, Natalie Mylek, Jennie Biernacki, Regina Blond, Evangeline Lada; nephews, Alphonse Nowacki and Adolph Nowacki; and niece Marcia Tishler.

Surviving are her endearing and very much-loved family, nieces and nephew:  Christine (Robert) Ondrus, Catherine (Scott) Barnes, Joan (Jesse) Cruz, and William Blond.  Also, her many grand and great grand nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to her niece Catherine and her husband Scott and her niece Christine and her husband Bob and her friend Cindy for all they have done.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI where a rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church 8330 Lewis Ave Temperance, MI where she will lie in state in the narthex after 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow the luncheon at 2:00 p.m. in Calvary Catholic Cemetery Toledo, OH. Per family’s request you must wear a mask during the visitation and mass. Donations may be given to the Toledo Humane Society.
