Michael Gerald Mercier, 66 years, of Temperance, MI passed away Monday, December 29, 2025 in his home. The son of Wilfred and Eunice (Stevens) Mercier he was born January 7, 1959 in Toledo, OH. A foreman for Great Lakes Concrete Restoration, formerly R.H. Dewey, he retired in 2015.
A 1977 graduate of Bedford High School, he served in the Ohio Army National Guard as a Heavy Equipment Operator. October 8, 1983, he married his high school sweetheart, Connie Huth.
Mike was a member of the Sherman Osborne American Legion Post #192 in Temperance and Cement Masons Union Local #886.
Mike was a devoted family man. He was able to enjoy several winter Florida vacations with his wife after retirement, always looking for the best beaches. Family time at his Long Lake cottage was his top priority, whether he was cruising on the lake or pulling the kids on a tube, trail riding, campfires or just plain relaxing. He also loved attending his grandchildren’s activities and holiday cooking for the family.
In his early years, he enjoyed bird and small game hunting, snowmobiling, and dirt biking with his son and close friends. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved going to races or watching races at his garage parties. Friends could always count on Mike to give a helping hand. He took great pride in his career as a Cement Mason completing prestigious jobs on bridges, metro parks, and the Toledo Zoo.
He is survived by his loving wife, Connie; daughter, Lisa (Roy Barger) Mercier; son, Brian (Brittni) Mercier; grandchildren, Sofia Daly, Carmen Barger, Dean and Eli Mercier; and stepsister, Dawn (Tony) Mahn and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Donna (Gaynier); sister, Kathy Belanger; and stepsister, Debbie Powers.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI where there will be a military service with honors at 2:30 p.m. with a Celebration of Life following. Stop by anytime from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post 192 620 W. Temperance Rd. Temperance, MI.
