Surrounded by her children, Phyllis Ann (Clark) Jones, age 93, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter in Worthington, OH on Sunday, January 16. She was born on April 19, 1928 to Wayne and Dorothy (Grosteffon) Clark of Ida, Michigan, and graduated from Ida High School in 1945.
She was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Weslyn (Bud) Jones of 62 years, and sons, James and Jerry Jones and is survived by 5 of their children: Larry G. Jones, Richard L. Jones, Kay J. Williams (Larry,) Brenda S. Mann (Mark,) Bradley W. (Elaine ) Jones, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Formerly of Monroe, Michigan, Phyllis and Bud moved to Lewiston, Michigan in 1980 and were active members of square-dancing clubs in Northern Michigan as well as Harlingen, TX for several years. Together they also enjoyed camping, boating, and fishing.
Phyllis’s talents were many but her true love was sewing. She was an accomplished seamstress and when her girls were young, she sewed dance costumes for Peg Harris Studios in Monroe. She was also employed by Lay Z Boy chair company for 12 years, and foreman in the sewing and cutting department. At that time, she also sewed for furniture upholsterers as a side business. Post retirement she enjoyed quilting, gardening and many other hobbies. One of her favorite past times was playing cards, games and enjoying time spent with family and friends.
