Raymond J. Lewis, 72 years, of Erie, MI passed away suddenly Thursday, August 27, 2015 in his home. A master carpenter for many years, he could build anything. The son of Walter C. and Hazel (DuVall) Lewis he was born April 6, 1943 in Erie. Raymond was a 1961 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Monroe. He married Mary Jane Koehler on September 29, 1962.
Raymond enjoyed traveling and camping and he loved to dance. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Erie. A wonderful kind loving husband, father, and grandfather he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Jane; children, Keith (Christine) Lewis, Karen (Raymond) Halka, Kimberly (Michael Miller) Wagenhauser; grandchildren, Bradley (Lauren) Halka, Derek Halka, Ryan Lewis, Dustin Lewis, Jessica Wagenhauser, Jared Wagenhauser; sisters, Angela LaPlante, Elrose Deehan, Janet (James) Parran; brother-in-law William Turner and sister-in-law, Rosalie Lewis.
Services and burial will be private in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Erie. Arrangements entrusted to Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Avenue Temperance, MI. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to Morin Point Fire Department or Erie Fire Department.
