Raymond Melvin Lykowski, 96 years, of Temperance, MI passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018 in his home. The son of Joseph and Julianna (Templin) Lykowski he was born December 29, 1921 in Toledo, OH. A U.S. Army Air Force veteran, he served during WWII as PFC carpenter in Company B, stationed in Iceland. He graduated from Woodward High School and then obtained his journeyman’s card as a machinist. He worked for 42 years at Toledo Jeep as a Superintendent in Skilled Trades.
An avid outdoorsman, Ray’s passions included fishing year-round, mushroom hunting, expert fly tying, hunting, gardening, bird watching, and woodworking.
Raymond is survived by his children, Sue, Bob (Debbie), Joe (Terri), Jim (Cheryl) Lykowski; sister, Elaine Perzynski; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Dorothy (Thieroff), Joyce (Holub); sisters, Edythe Lykowski, Louise Luczak; grandchildren, Elizabeth Lykowski, Christopher Pio; and Joyce’s son, David Taulker.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 18, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI where there will be visiting after 2:00 p.m. Military Honors will be conducted by Lambertville VFW Post #9656.
