Robert A. Maenle

Robert A. Maenle, 55 years, of Temperance, MI passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, while under the compassionate care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The son of Arnold and Sandra (Lawrence) Maenle, he was born on May 23, 1970 in Toledo, OH.

He was a proud graduate of Bedford Senior High School, Class of 1988, and went on to earn an associate’s degree in Culinary Arts from Monroe County Community College in 1990.

A member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, he found joy in volunteering for the church, often lending his culinary talents to cook for events and serve his community. He was also a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus Council 11430.

Since 2019, Robert worked as a custodian for Bedford Public Schools. He truly cherished his time there, enjoying the daily interactions with staff and students, the camaraderie with his coworkers, and always going the extra mile to help others. Outside of work and volunteering, Robert had a passion for camping, cooking, and selflessly assisting anyone in need. He also enjoyed playing games with his family and listening to NPR.

He is survived by his loving mother, Sandra Maenle; his brothers, David (Kelly), John (Sue Strack), Joseph (Billie), and Donald; and his sister, Rachel (Steve) Eagle. Robert’s memory will also be cherished by his many nieces and nephews: Heather, Cory (Emily), Brian (Jess), Justin, Kevin, Zachary, Kaitlyn (Ryan), Kristen, Jacob, Alexander, Daniel, Maria, James, Benjamin, and his honorary nephew, Devin. He also leaves behind great-nieces and nephews, Carolynn, Clara, Knox, and Connor.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Maenle.

The family would also like to thank those who cared for him at the Toledo Hospital Neurological Unit and Hickory Ridge in Temperance. They truly helped make his final time with family peaceful.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI.  The funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church 4605 St. Anthony Rd, Temperance, MI. where visiting will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the narthex. Fr. Robert Slaton will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery, Temperance, MI.
