Robert W. Gerding, Jr., 74 years, of Temperance, MI passed away peacefully from Alzheimer’s on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 in the Franciscan Care Center, Toledo, OH.
Bob lived in Temperance most of his life, graduating from Bedford High School. He retired from The Jeep Corporation.
The son of Robert and Helen (Falk) Gerding, Sr., he was born November 3, 1947, in Toledo.
A U.S. Army Veteran, Bob was a long-time member of the Lambertville VFW Post #9656.
Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Pamela in March of 2019. He is survived by his stepson, Clayton J. (Melonie) DeVol; stepdaughter, Shaleena (Brodie) Gokey; grandchildren, C.J. and Cheyenne DeVol; Trever, Steven, Chance, Sareena, and Joshua Gokey; sisters, Judy Schultz, Joyce Jarrell; stepbrother, Dennis Heams; and stepsister, Georgia Wesley. Bob was also preceded in death by his parents; mother, Helen Heams; stepfather, Harry Heams, and stepbrother, Tim Heams.
Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in Whiteford Union Cemetery, Whiteford Twp., MI with Military Honors conducted by Lambertville VFW Post #9656.
