Ronald D. Lyson, 81, passed away on February 9, 2025, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories, laughter, and adventure. The son of Bennie and Pauline (Cul) Lyson, he was born on July 6, 1943.
A proud veteran, Ron served his country in the U.S. Air Force before embarking on a long career with the railroad. He started as a lineman and worked his way up to supervisor in the signal department for Conrail before retiring.
Outside of work, Ron was an avid outdoorsman. He had a deep love for deer hunting and spent countless hours in the woods, embracing the peace and challenge of the hunt. He loved football and was a huge fan of the Detroit Lions.
A man who loved good company and friendly competition, Ron enjoyed playing card games, especially euchre and scat.
Ron is survived by his wife of over 40 years Sharon (Roberts) Lyson; children, Michelle (Rob) Davis, Howard (Rita) Morgan; grandchildren, Caryn (Mahlon) Lauer, James McCarthy Jr. and other loving grand and step-grandchildren and great-grand father of 9; also survived by brother, Mike Lyson; 2 sisters and best friend, Hank. He is preceded in death by sons, Mike, Rodney, Jeff; daughter, Char and brothers, Bob, Joe and John.
