Ronald J. Sutter, 83 years, of Toledo, OH passed away on August 26, 2022 at Bay Park Hospital. The son of Ernest and Virginia (Marchant) Sutter he was born on June 20, 1939 in Toledo, OH.
Ronald attended St. Mary’s grade school and Central Catholic High School. He worked for the Toledo Blade as a truck driver. He and his wife went on the road visiting cities in Southern Ohio and Kentucky, taking and selling baby pictures. He enjoyed everyone he met on the road.
Ron and some friends with the help of his two sons, Dennis and Danny started his own business called Rome Construction doing roofing, siding, windows, insulation and home repairs all over Western Ohio but mostly Toledo and surrounding areas. Rome Construction has been operating for over 40 plus years which was such a joy to Ron each day to have to look forward to helping others. He enjoyed life and no one was ever a stranger after chatting with him. He had such a wonderful and caring personality and always loved joking with anyone. Ron also enjoyed horse racing and for a short time even raised and raced Greyhound dogs.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Mary Ann; sons, Dennis (Debora) Sutter Danny (Terri Dutton) Sutter and Ronald (Sandy) Sutter; grandchildren, Nicole Sutter and Tony J. Durco; great-grandchildren, Claudia and Michael; siblings, Fr. Conrad Sutter OFM Conv. and Cindy Valasek as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Nancy, Robert and Raymond.
A memorial gathering will held on Friday, September 9, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave Temperance, MI where a celebration of life service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
