Thomas E. McKenzie, 76 years, of Temperance, MI passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 in his home. An electrician, he worked for Ford Motor Company in Milan, MI until he retired in 1998 and was a long time member of I.B.E.W. Local # 8 in Toledo.
The son of Floyd and Pauline (Taylor) McKenzie he was born November 26, 1939 in Twin Falls, Idaho. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954–1959 on a nuclear submarine where he traveled the world.
Thomas was an avid golfer. He was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship Church in Petersburg, MI where he served as an Elder.
A devout Christian, he loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Thomas has left a lasting legacy for his family and will be truly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Dr. Barbara Kay (Lykins) McKenzie; mother, Pauline; son, Scott (Brenda) of Temperance; daughter, Shannon (Paul) Bannister of Utica, NY; granddaughters, Amanda Williams of Dallas, TX, Jodie Young of Temperance; Savannah Bannister of Utica, NY; grandsons, Scott, Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Kyle (Anna) of Temperance. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd; grandmother, Gladys Taylor; brother, Chet McKenzie; sister, Sharon Keathley; and brother-in-law, Bob Keathley.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Avenue Temperance, MI. Cremation will follow. There will be no funeral service.
