Thomas Michael Rischman, 47, of Temperance, MI passed away on February 4, 2025, in his home. The son of James and Karen (Eurenius) Rischman, he was born in Toledo, OH on March 5, 1977. Tom and his family later moved to Temperance, MI where he graduated from Bedford High School in 1995. In 2006 he married the love of his life Corey, and they remained in Temperance until his death.
Tom worked in sales at Famous Supply in Toledo, OH for 20 years. While there, Tom forged both business and personal relationships that will forever leave a lasting impact. He was tenacious and focused, bringing both dedication and meticulous effort to every job he worked on.
Tom lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment of his short time. He was a kind and loving soul, always ready with a story that could transport you into the moment and leave you laughing until you cried. If you knew Tom well, you were most likely part of his “fan club,” a title he bestowed with warmth and affection. With just a glance or a subtle tap, Tom had a way of making you feel like you were sharing an inside joke, even in a crowded room. He created special greetings and handshakes that made everyone around him feel valued and unique.
Tom found joy in golfing, bowling, and soaking up the sun by the pool. He had a passion for cooking and, above all, loved spending time with his wife, Corey, and their beloved chocolate lab Jojo. Tom’s presence brought light and laughter to those around him, and his memory will continue to do the same.
Through his battle with cancer, Tom remained unwaveringly strong, determined, and full of courage. He faced his illness with a fighting spirit, relentless positivity, and an “attitude of gratitude” that inspired everyone around him. In true Tom fashion, even amid his own struggles, he was the one offering comfort to others, easing their worries with his warmth, humor, and unshakable optimism. His strength and kindness remained unshakable, leaving a lasting effect on all who crossed his path.
Tom is survived by his devoted wife, Corey (Callaghan) Rischman who stood by his side in sickness and in health; his father, James Rischman Jr; brothers, Corey Rischman and David Rischman; nieces, Isabella Rischman and Chloe Rischman, and nephew Hayes Callaghan. He is also survived by mother-in-law, Judy Callaghan; brother-in-law, Tim (Krista Tomorowitz) Callaghan; best friend and “brother” Don Short; and “sister” Erica Chambers. Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Rischman; brother, Michael Rischman; and grandparents, James (Arlene) Rischman and Larry (Ruth) Eurenius.
