William “Ger” Gerard Walsh, age 50, lover of laughter, jokester, entrepreneur, skilled fisherman and archer, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017.

Ger was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Walsh.
Ger was born in Athy, Co. Kildare, Ireland on August 18, 1966 to Joseph and Mary Walsh. In his early 20’s, he emigrated from Ireland to the United States. He graduated from the University of Toledo in 1998 with a degree in Civil Engineering, then settled down and had a successful career as an engineer in the Northwest Ohio region.
The wonderful person that Ger grew into was a culmination of all his interests and experiences. He often told stories of his time in Ireland that included playing soccer with his neighborhood friends and dogs, spending hours learning how to whistle, making his own flies to use while fly fishing, and hunting with his bow and arrow. More recently, he enjoyed golfing with his community of family and friends.
Ger was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed teaching his children fishing techniques, and they often spent time on quiet lakes and ponds perfecting their techniques together. He was always willing to give advice, lend a listening ear, and a helping hand
His light-hearted personality and love for humor made him a beloved man with everyone he met. He continued to put others before himself, making others feel special and welcomed. He was a problem-solver who took on difficult projects, with an unparalleled work ethic and uncanny ability to remember every project detail. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
