Virginia "Ginger" L. Synder

Virginia L. Snyder, 82 years, of Temperance, MI passed away Monday, January 12, 2026 in ProMedica Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania, OH. The daughter of John and Virginia (Schrein) Swisher, she was born December 6, 1943 in Toledo, OH. Growing up in Bedford Twp., she worked at her Swisher family’s restaurant known as “Flash’s Restaurant” when she was younger. Virginia married her high school sweetheart, Norman Snyder and they were married for 56 years.

“Ginger” was a warm and welcoming soul who made friends with everyone she met. She loved to travel, being a devout Catholic, her most cherished journey was a trip to the Holy Land. As an incredible homemaker, Ginger dedicated herself to her family. After her children became self-sufficient, she worked for JC Penney for many years. She and her husband, Norman, enjoyed many joyful moments at their Little Long Lake home and spending their winters in Florida. Ginger also cherished her annual “girls’ weekend” with her beloved granddaughters.

Virginia is survived by her loving children, Mark (Tracy) Snyder, Wendy (Johnny) Nowatka, Shelly (Brian) Betz, Scott (Amy) Snyder; siblings, Vernon (Bev) Swisher, Judy (Kent) Kubitz, Jackie (Harry) Drew, Donna (Danny) White, Lani (Bob) Brown, Bill (Sandy) Swisher, Greg (Mary) Swisher, Debbie Lynch, Keith (Cindy) Swisher, Mickey (Wayne) Cluckey; daughter-in-law, Susan Snyder; brother-in-law, Don Nofzinger; 11 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; son, Todd Snyder; brother, Terry Swisher; sister, Alma Nofzinger; parents, and stepfather, Harold Luce.

Visitation will be Friday, January 16, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI. The funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Temperance where there will be visiting in the narthex after 10:00 a.m. Cremation will follow.
