Zachary Holmes

Zachary Holmes, 37 years, of Lambertville MI, passed away suddenly on August 7, 2025. Zachary was born on July 1, 1988, in Toledo, OH to Russell and Veronica (Renn) Holmes. He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend whose humor and heart left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him. He was a 2006 Bedford High School graduate.

Zachary was known for his love of family, passion for golf, cheering on his favorite sports teams: Michigan Wolverines, Detroit Lions, Tigers and Red Wings, also his razor-sharp wit. He has an incredible talent in the kitchen and a love for gourmet cooking, random trivia facts and movie quotes, always bringing laughter and levity to every room he entered. Zachary will be remembered for his big heart, sense of humor and the joy he found in the simple moments with the people he loved the most.

Zachary is survived by his beloved son and entire world, Connor Holmes; Corey Holmes; parents, Russell and Veronica Holmes; brother, Joshua (Taylor) Holmes; niece, Blake Holmes and grandfather, Clifford Renn. He is also mourned by his uncle, John Renn and his very special aunts, Cecelia (Tom) Mallin, Amy (Dan) Hubbard, Gail Avery-Mack, Arlene Holmes and Kathy Vitale, as well as many cousins and friends who loved him dearly. Zachary was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Elaine Holmes and Rachel Renn; uncles, Matthew and Markus Renn, Frank Vitale and Kenny Avery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI where the funeral service be held at 7:00 p.m. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of their choice in memory of Zachary or to Connor’s Educational Fund.
