Joseph Michael “”Mike”” Wesley, 72, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died peacefully on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at ProMedica Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania, OH, with his family and loved ones by his side. Mike was born December 29, 1943 in Pontiac, MI to Joseph and Regina (Sokoll) Wesley. He graduated from Ida High School in 1962 and married the love of his life, Carol Jean Refi on November 28, 1964 in St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Toledo.
Together they raised their three children. A resident of Lambertville since 1983; he founded, owned and operated Bedford Tree Service for over 30 years. A machinist for Dana Corporation, he retired in 2001 after 32 years. He had also owned and operated Mike’s Antenna Service for 15 years.
An avid outdoorsman, Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church Temperance, MI, Knights of Columbus Council #8902, and the UAW Local #12. He previously was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Temperance for 20 years.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Carol; son, Mark Wesley; daughter, Kimberly (Matthew) Hansen; son, Michael Wesley; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean (Richard) Hess, Joann (Robert) Kitzman, and Norma Gaspari.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Avenue Temperance, MI. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, August 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church where he will lie in state after 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
