Alvin R. Sancrant, 75 years, of Petersburg, MI passed away peacefully on Monday, January 18th, 2022 at Aspen Grove in Lambertville with loving family by his side for the many months he was sick. Elara Hospice of Lenawee was very helpful with his care as well.
The son of Lester and Marie (Bofia) Sancrant he was born on February 21, 1946.
Alvin graduated from Ida High School in 1965. He was a United States Marine and served in the Vietnam War. For many years he worked at Peerless Gear Division of Tecumseh Products. An avid sportsman, he loved fishing, hunting, and trapping.
In 1996, Alvin accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior. He witnessed to many through ministries and organizations with children, such as Royal Rangers, and even the nursery. Other ministries were Men’s Overcomers, Singles Ministries and Church Board. He was always ready to tell others of Jesus’ unconditional love.
In November of 1996 he married the love of his life, Patricia (Davis). They recently celebrated their 25th year together as husband and wife.
Alvin is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; his daughter, Brandy (Matt) Bushroe; grandson, Austin Gardner; siblings, Virginia (Charles) Neshkoff, Clarence Sancrant, James (Sharron) Sancrant, twin brother Melvin (Gina) Sancrant and Linda (Gary) Pollock; 4 step-children, Denise (David) Krueger, Melinda (Paul) Howe, Peter (Sarah) Davis, and Dale (Jodie) Davis; 13 step-grandchildren, Shane, Olivia, Daniel, Dean, Dawn, Duane, Kenneth, Patrick, Nathan, Luke, Katie, Emily, Jacob and 11 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Marie; 2 brothers, Raymond, and Richard; 3 sisters, Pearl, Tillie and Violet and a step-granddaughter, Rebecca.
Visitation will be Friday January 21, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI. where Military Honors will be conducted by Erie VFW Post 3925 at 7:30 p.m.
The Celebration of Life Service for Alvin will be Wednesday, January 26th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Compelled Church, 8790 Jackman Road, Temperance, Michigan 48182. There will be a luncheon following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Missions of Compelled Church.
