Beatrice “Bea” Hendershot, 93 years, of Temperance, MI went peacefully home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Bea was born March 6, 1928 in Akron, OH. Bea’s deep faith played an important role in her life and the family takes great comfort in knowing she is with her savior.
Bea left school early to start her life and was guided by the Lord Jehovah God. She was an active member of the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Temperance, MI.
Bea’s children remember her as an encourager and a very giving person who would do anything for anyone. Even the neighborhood children called her mom. She always looked at the bright side. She loved her family and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bea enjoyed playing cards and socializing with friends at the Bedford Senior Center and the Ivor Lindsay community. She was an avid football fan and spent many hours cheering on her beloved Buckeyes.
Bea was preceded in death by her husband, Claude J. Hendershot; her son, Richard S Hendershot; brother, John Pearhac; sister, Marge Garcea and great-granddaughter, Lauren Casteel. Surviving are her sons, Don (Cheryl) Milhoan, Jay (Pam) Hendershot; daughter, Nancy Jane; grandchildren, Lisa, Kevin, Cassie, Aaron, Ben, Warren, James; great-grandchildren, Emily, Caitlin, Madison, Brianna, Andrew, Elliot, and Tyler as well as the Garcea nieces and nephews who were so special to her.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and chaplain at the St. Vincent Hospital, on the Covid floor, for their loving care. They went above and beyond.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI 48182 where the funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in Sunbury Memorial Park, 40 West Cherry St., Sunbury, OH. Memorial contributions can be made to St Luke’s Lutheran church, Temperance, MI in Bea’s name or the charity of your choice.
