Benjamin “Ben” Charles Swisher, 41 years, of Monroe, MI passed away on June 19, 2023. The son of Terrence Swisher and Regina Eddinger he was born on January 18, 1982 in Toledo, OH.

A master painter by trade and an amazing one at that. He is the epitome of a perfectionist. Took his time on every job. Not only was he great at his craft he was very creative and artistic. He was the life of the party. He had an amazing ability to make you laugh. You could stay up all night just laughing at him being a goofball. Growing up you would always find Ben in peculiar situations and would manage to always sweet talk his way out of things. We believe that was from his huge heart. You couldn’t help but love him. Ben definitely rooted for the underdog and befriended the undesirable. He was a lovable, sweet and respectful man. He truly was a people person, no one was a stranger. Ben loved to work out. Physical fitness was a challenge for him. It kept his mind focused on a goal. He also enjoyed helping others get in shape. He loved his 5 children with all his heart. He would always make up creative games and treasure hunts for them.

He is survived by his mother, Gina Eddinger; father, Terry Swisher; sister, Ashley Stranzin; the love of his life, Sandra Eaton and his children, Myles Swisher, Emma Swisher, Mason Swisher, Brooklyn Eaton and Benjamin Swisher. He was welcomed into the kingdom of God by his uncle Marty and uncle Glenn and because of this we all rest peacefully knowing the three of them are cracking jokes in heaven together.

A memorial gathering will be on Monday, June 26, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave Temperance, MI 48182 where a memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Sending my love and condolences to Sandra and her family. Only met Ben a few times through commutity work. Not knowing Ben or his family well, they still hold a special place in my heart and memories. Rest in peace friend.

Sorry for loss and praying for you and family during this difficult time. May God grant you peace and comfort.

Ben, I remember our talks and your questions about God. I knew you had a commitment to the Lord. You told me how hard you tried and how many times you would fail. You asked if God will hold it against you since fell so often. I remember telling you that God looks at our hearts and whether we meant what we said when we gave our lives to God. You said I meant it why am I so weak? Remember we pulled over on the side of the highway and we asked for forgiveness, and we asked for the courage of a lion's heart for you. You looked at me and said, Aunt Brandy, I have courage. I said then you have to keep walking forward knowing the lord has your back. I remember seeing peace on your face that day. So go now and be at peace with your Lord. Tell Uncle Marty and Uncle Glenn I love them or yes, Ben I love you too. 💕

Rest easy Ben, till we meet again my friend....

Thank you Ben for your kind heart, I will miss talking to you. I was never shy of telling any man I cared about that I loved him. You Ben brought my daughter happiness. I love you Ben I will miss you. Till we meet again by Mijo.

I met Ben in the Marines back around 2004. He was a good friend and could make everybody laugh. He always had your back. He will be missed, I am sorry for your loss.

I knew Ben just before he went to the Marines. He was a really great friend and I'll never forget him. I pray that he has his place in heaven. I loved him as a brother and would have took his place. Prayers go out to his family. R.I.P. Brother.

I haven’t seen Ben since like 2005. We were Marines together in 2nd CEB and we were in the same Basic Engineer Class. I only have good memories of this dude. He was a fun person to be around. I specifically remember Mike Goebel and Ben doing some crazy freestyles in the quad by the barracks. I hope he led a full life, and I am so sorry for your loss.

Ben was a wonderful person! A great friend and cousin,hard worker and a amazing dad! We will miss you Ben! We love you! Watch over us buddy! Till we meet again!
