Bernice Stykemain

Bernice Carolyn Stykemain, 78 years, of Temperance, MI passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022 in her home. The daughter of Bernard and Beatrice (Kregulka) Briskey she was born April 30, 1944 in Toledo, OH. A 1962 graduate of Bedford High School, she married James Douglas Stykemain September 9, 1967 in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Temperance. He preceded her in death in 2010.

A devout Catholic, Bernice was a longtime parishioner of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church for over 70 years where she volunteered at their rummage and bake sales and was a long- standing integral member of the Christian Mothers and Prayer Blanket Associations.

Bernice loved reading, gardening, knitting, and being outside in the Fall and Spring.

When her boys were young, she also enjoyed going to all of their baseball, soccer, and football games.

She is survived by her loving sons, Adam (Catherine) Stykemain, Alex (Angel) Stykemain, Aaron (Wendy) Stykemain; grandchildren, Emma, Marisa, Colin, Hudson, Greyson, Carter, Meiyan and Christere; great-grandchild, August; brother, David Briskey, and sister-in-law, Roslyn Briskey. She was a preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Stykemain and a brother, Michael Briskey.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 6, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI. The funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, January 7, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Temperance, MI where there will be visiting in the Narthex after 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
