Betty Jean Brown

Betty Jean Brown, 84 years, of Temperance, MI went home to be with the Lord on November 6, 2024 at St. Anne’s Mercy Hospital. The daughter of Orla and Mildred (Lazenby) Abbott, she was born February 25, 1940 in Toledo, OH.

On January 20, 1962, she married the love of her life, Garry K. Brown. They later welcomed their 3 children, Donald Brown, Rick Brown, and Katrina (Ray) Cunningham; 4 grandchildren, Jacqueline Brown, Dustin (Casey) Cunningham, Garry Cunningham, Rose (Alexander) Hunter, and 7 great-granddaughters.

Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved bowling with her friends and traveling to Tennessee with her family to see the mountains, waterfalls, and bears. Most of her Saturdays were spent cheering on her favorite team, the Buckeyes. She was a family woman to her core, and left her entire family with a constant sense of unwavering love.

She is survived and will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Fran Abbott; sister, Barbara Hogrefe; 2 nieces, a nephew, and her life-long best friend, Fran Keith. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandparents, and brother.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 15, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI where the funeral service will be on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery, Sylvania, OH.
