Bonnie Jean Kerstetter, 78 years, of Temperance, MI passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the Merit House under the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The daughter of Russel Smith and Margaret Carter she was born on February 16, 1941 in Toledo, OH.
Bonnie married Wilbur “”Doc”” Kerstetter on May 28, 1960 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Bonnie loved spending time with her family. When not working at St Luke’s Hospital and later as a home health aide, she enjoyed camping with family and friends. She was a member of the Eagles on Jackman Road and liked to be involved. She was often found sewing, crafting and it was not unusual to receive handmade gifts from her.
Bonnie is survived by her children, Paul (Kathy) Kerstetter and Tanya (Kevin) Wagenhauser; step-father, Charles Hiteshew Sr.; 5 grandchildren, Allen, Stephanie (Benjamin) Flores, Jamey (Jenny), Tony, and Emma; 4 great-grandchildren; Mariel, Grant, Lincoln and Savanah; siblings, Charles (Cindy) Hiteshew Jr., James (Margaret) Hiteshew and Sandra Nieman. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbur; son, Wilbur Kerstetter Jr.; sisters, Caroline Zibble and Margie Ottinger.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave Temperance, MI where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Bedford Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
