Bonnie Rae Nearhood

Bonnie Rae Nearhood, 87 years, of Temperance, MI passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022 in her home surrounded by family. A former school bus driver for Bedford Public Schools, she retired after 31 years of service. The daughter of Paul and Ruth (Cousino) Brenneman she was born December 14, 1934 in Toledo, OH. Bonnie married Ellwood “Skip”Nearhood August 25, 1951 in Toledo and he preceded her in death in 2002.

Family was everything to Bonnie. She loved get–togethers and having many discussions around the table. She looked forward to camping at Walden Woods and also enjoyed traveling to the cottage on Houghton Lake. Shopping was her favorite pastime.She always cherished spending time with the grandkids during Spring Break.

Bonnie was a member of the Sylvania Moose Lodge and CWV.

She is survived by her loving children, Patty (Ron) Tillman, Linda (Steve) Sanford, Richard “Skip” (Amy) Nearhood, Susan (Mike) Miller; grandchildren, Amy (Teddy) Peacock, Stephen (Amy) Sanford, Brian Sanford, Kristy Sanford, Ryan Nearhood, Lindsay (Max) Burkett, Kayla (Chris) Rogers; 8 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald (Jackie) Brenneman. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Barbara, Rita, Roger, Judy, and Terry.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 28, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI.where the Funeral Service will be held Monday, August 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Toledo Memorial Park Sylvania, OH.

The family gives a special “Thank You” to her caregivers, Kathy and Sandy and Kim Smith from Monroe ProMedica Hospice for their care of Bonnie.
