Carol Jean Heiden, 90 years of Temperance, MI passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Hickory Ridge of Temperance in Temperance, MI. The daughter of George and Hazel (Scheele) Boos, she was born on October 3, 1933 in Monroe, MI. She worked in the office at Consolidated Paper after she graduated from high school until she married Harold A. Heiden. She worked for 10 years at Lutheran Social Services in Toledo, OH until she and Harold retired in 1997.
She was a 1952 graduate of Monroe High School. On May 22,1954, she married Harold Heiden at St. Paul’s Methodist church in Monroe, MI. Carol loved camping with her husband and sons, sewing, cooking, travel, baking (she made the best pies) and was a cub scouts den mother. For 20 years she and Harold lived at their home in Palmetto, FL during the winter months. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Temperance, MI and Trinity Lutheran Church
in Bradenton, FL.
Carol is survived by her sons, Thomas (Donata) Heiden, Timothy Heiden and Scott (Linda) Heiden; grandchildren, Jay, Nicholas, Adam, Zachary, Dylan, Cameron and Gabrielle as well as 3 great-grandchildren and her sister-in-law, Ann Boos. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold Heiden who passed away on November 24, 2023, her brother, James Boos and daughter-in-law, Susan Heiden.
A combined memorial service will be held for Carol and Harold on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 which would have been their 70th wedding anniversary at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church 1690 West Sterns Road Temperance, MI. from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle, MI. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Temperance.
