Casimer “”Uncle Casey”” Nowotka, 88 years, of Toledo, OH passed away Friday, June 10, 2016 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He retired in 1986 from the Toledo Jeep Corporation after 34 years. For many years, he owned Casey’s Bar on Central Ave. and Mulberry St. The son of John and Helen (Pawletski) Nowotka he was born May 24, 1928 in Toledo. Casey was an avid golfer and fisherman.
He is survived by his stepson, Jim Wazniak and many nieces and nephews. Casey was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Collins) in 2005; brother, John Nowotka; sister, Joan Gramza; and nephew, Harry Gramza.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Avenue Temperance, MI. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Temperance, where he will lie in state after 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
