Claudine Marie Turner, 84 years, of Lambertville, MI passed peacefully to the other side Saturday October 13, 2018 in Ebeid Hospice. The daughter of Joseph and Catherine Lescure was born on June 14, 1934 in Metz, France.
Claudine married David J. Turner in Metz, France on March 5, 1954 and soon moved to her lifelong home in Lambertville, Michigan. Claudine and David were founding members of “Fox And Hounds” restaurant in Lambertville. (currently Sidelines)
Claudine (Mom, …Momma-T, Gramma-T) worked hard to provide for her children, sometimes 2 to 3 jobs at a time to make ends meet. Even with the long hours, Claudine always made sure her children had home cooked meals, clean clothes and spooktacular Halloween costumes that she often made by hand.
Claudine worked most of her life in the hospitality field, a job that was tough and required long hours, a kind smile and a mild demeanor.
Claudine’s whole life was based on putting the comfort of others before her own.
Claudine always made sure that everyone received cards and gifts for birthdays and holidays, even though she worked with a very tight budget.
Claudine loved all her animals and made sure they always had food and water. Even in the most inclement weather, Claudine would drive to the store to pick up food to make sure her pets, the stray cats, birds and squirrels had something to eat. Claudine also participated in charity events for Alzheimer’s, MS, Humane Society and many others for years.
Claudine was the original “Hostess With Mostess”.
Her parties were always filled with great food, family and friends. Especially her annual Christmas Eve party and several parties by the pool that we all attended at one time or other.
Claudine always hosted the best parties… even when she was not aware they were going on!
Claudine was preceded in death by her infant daughter Jenny, parents Joseph and Catherine Lescure and husband David.
Claudine is survived by her three loving daughters, Cherie (Terry) Majoros, Michelle (Don) Wilson and Denise (Doug) Bosworth; granddaughter, Joyah Bosworth, and everyone who called her Mom, Momma-T or Gramma-T.
Claudine always made sure your plate was loaded, your glass was full and of course the pool was spotless.
Claudine always had a place at her table for everyone, and always had just a little extra room for desert!
A memorial gathering will be held on October 19, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Ave, Temperance, MI. Cremation has taken place.
