Daphna O’Dale Gill (Dale) of Temperance, MI passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, May 6, 2023. He was born to the union of Thomas M. and Beddie M. (Hampton) Gill on October 7, 1934, in McClelland, Arkansas.
Dale graduated from Riverview High School and later married the love of his life, Carol (Halverson) in 1955. Dale and Carol built a life together in Southeast Michigan where they were blessed with six children. Dale’s pastime was the outdoors, woodworking, and boating. He and his wife were passionate about taking care of their small farm. Dale’s drive to provide for his family was passed on to his children.
Daphna (Dale) Gill is survived by his children, Cindy Gill, Kim Oaklund, Kevin (Sandra) Gill, Steven Gill, Nathan Gill (Danni D’Amour); sister, Carolyn Gill; 16 grandchildren; Jennifer, Jeremy, Jason, Rusty, Penelope, Johnathan, Ty, Jacob, Sarah, Lee Anna, Samantha, Evan, Audrie, Brennan, Renee, and Kenny; 13 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Carol; son, Dean Oather Gill, brothers, Oather Daniel Gill and Danion Gill, and sister, Maxine Page.
A Memorial Fellowship will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, Michigan.. Visitation is from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. followed by a family tribute from 2:00 – 2:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Whiteford Union Cemetery.
