Dean Scott Dressel was born on April 24, 1964 in Toledo, OH. He was the loving son of Kenneth and Miriam (Bishop) Dressel. Dean passed from this life in the early morning hours on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, OH. He fought a valiant and courageous battle with Cancer.
Dean grew up in Ottawa Lake, MI and graduated in 1982 from Whiteford High School. He proudly served 4 years in the US Navy. On April 28, 1990 he married the love of his life, his soul mate, Shareen Rakosik. They built their home together in Lambertville, MI and raised their 3 children Blake, Danial and Natalie.
Dean was employed by Fiat Chrysler for 27 years.
Dean lived his life to the fullest. He had an incredibly quick-wit and loved a good joke or prank. He was an avid boater and fisherman and could often be found out on Lake Erie fishing with family and friends. He also loved sharing his great catch with fish fries whenever he could. He has earned his wings and is now fishing with the greatest fisher of all time!
His love for adventure was only surpassed by his love of his family. Dean is survived by his parents; wife, Shareen; children, Blake (Samantha)Dressel, Dan Dressel, Natalie (Jeremy Henry); brother, Douglas (Rhonda) Dressel; sister, Diana (Bill) Ristom; mother-in-law, Terry Rakosik; sisters-in-law, Shelly Rakosik and Renee (Mick) Gose
His nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart; Randi (Bill) Scovell, Brandon (Krista) Dressel, Jeremi (Amanda) Manor and Grant Gose.
Also his great nieces and nephews; Connor and Brynn Scovell, Kendall and Henry Dressel, Austin and Josie Bilau, Wyatt Dean Manor. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his loving, Father- in- law, Dennis Rakosik; grandparents, Dana and Carol Bishop; Carl and Eleanor Dressel.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave Temperance, MI where the funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Military Honors following conducted by the Lambertville VFW Post 9656. Cremation to follow. A celebration of Dean’s life will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the caring & thoughtful staff at the Hickman Cancer Center, Flower Hospital Oncology Floor and Ebeid Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to Bedford Veterans Center or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
