Dennis E. Lump, 81 years, of Lambertville, MI passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024 in his home surrounded by his loving family. The son of Peter and Edwina (Tucker) Lump, he was born October 12, 1942 in Mansfield, OH. Denny was a U.S. Army Veteran and a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Toledo, OH. He married Barbara Hinds, June 22, 1991 in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Toledo. He cherished her and set the bar very high on how to treat a lady. For over 40 years Dennis was involved in the welding industry, and a member of The American Welders Society. Dennis was an instructor at Owens Community College and Penta County Vocational school. He was a proprietor of Welders Needs, which later became Linde Gas, where he retired in 2008 as a Sales Engineer. Dennis loved the water and spent many summers skiing and boating on Sandusky Bay. He also spent many years camping, fishing and swimming with his children at Lake James in Angola, IN. He was an excellent golfer, basketball coach, and jack of all trades. His charisma, integrity and faith created many lifelong friendships. Dennis was an amazing father and husband and is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; daughters, Anissa (David) Ignatowicz, Kendra Lump-Frey, Andrea Szymanski, Emily (Al) Downey; stepchildren, Jennifer (Troy) Behan, Corey Hinds; sister, Leanne Coonley; 18 grandchildren who adored their “Papa”; 5 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way. He was preceded in death by his only son and best friend, Brian (Edna) Lump; brother, David (Ruth) Lump. Visitation will be Monday, March 4, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Temperance, with Military Honors conducted by Lambertville VFW Post #9656. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or The Special Olympics.
