Enjoying a good buffet himself, he also loved to cook always making sure no one ever went hungry. An avid lottery player, he made sure he had his numbers in for all of the daily draws in addition to all of his scratch off tickets, including cash explosion. A “wheeler and dealer” with cars, Derek was a faithful fan of Ohio State football and the Cleveland Browns. He loved animals and even while suffering he would make sure to remind us to feed the stray cats and birds. He was a loyal donator to the Humane Society, The Shriners, and St. Jude Children’s Hospital over the years. Most importantly he loved his kids and grandkids and looked forward to spending time with them.
